Public network interface

Virtual Server with Network Interface

Each Virtual Server can have one network interface, which serves as the access interface to the Internet.

IPv4 Addressing in Public Network Interface

The public network interface requires a public IPv4 address assigned to the server through the Customer Panel. Proper configuration, necessary to ensure connectivity, requires setting the address, network mask, and default gateway address. All of this information is automatically configured through the DHCP protocol.

Additional IPv4 Addresses for the Server

If the server has more than one assigned address, manual configuration of the network interface is necessary - the DHCP protocol cannot configure additional addressing.

Transfer Fees - Virtual Server Network Interface

Incoming network transfer to the Virtual Server is free. Outgoing network transfer is counted separately for each Virtual Server and accumulated within the account, and then settled according to the price list or individual agreement. The generated transfer counter is reset to zero at the beginning of each month.

Information on the amount of generated network traffic is read from the network interfaces of the Virtual Server.

Traffic Filtering in Public Network Interface

In the default configuration, the public network interface does not filter incoming or outgoing traffic. Users can configure such filtering using the Customer Panel or API.

Network Interface Limitations

  • interface bandwidth - up to 1Gbit
  • maximum MTU - 1500 bytes
  • enforcing the correctness of the configured MAC address
  • enforcing the correctness of the configured IP address
